Safety & Security
You should never rely on this service to communicate in case of emergency.
We do not guarantee that this service is fit for any particular function. In particular, we do not guarantee that the creator of a vDoorbell truly is linked to the location of the vDoorbell, nor that your visitor is truly within the radius intended for access to the vDoorbell. How did you get the link to access the vDoorbell? Could someone else have put the link in your email or placed the QR code where you scanned it? You are responsible for deciding whether you trust the person you contact and what information you share when using this service.
Users of the service are not authenticated. People tend to misbehave when they feel that they cannot be identified, whether that feeling is founded or not. Make sure you understand basic internet safety before using this service. Be particularly aware of precautions regarding use of chat, audio calls and video calls (e.g. esafety.gov.au); kMeet is not moderated.
In case of abuse, contact your local law enforcement. We will cooperate with any order of justice to help identify abusers.
Privacy
The vDoorbell service complies with EU's GDPR and the Swiss nFADP. We do not use cookies. We do not record the location of your visitors. We do not have access to any data you communicate via kMeet including names you choose to use, or duration of communication. We do record the information that you enter to create a vDoorbell and your Telegram id number (not your name or username) because we need this information to offer the service. We also record usage information in order to see how we can improve the service we offer, which is in our legitimate interest.
We run the service from Switzerland on fly.io servers in the Netherlands. Chat/calls use the kMeet service managed by Infomaniak in Switzerland.
